Since the Miami Grand Prix last May, a good dynamic has been established in the ranks ofAlpine. Unlucky at the start of the season, Fernando Alonso has found a smile again since the arrivals in the points have followed one another recently with 5 races in a row with at least one point gleaned at the end of the weekend.

In Great Britain just a few days ago, the Asturian showed solidity by scoring 10 points from 5th position, thus allowing Alpine to hold on to 5th place in the Manufacturers' championship ahead Alfa Romeo. A dynamic reinforced by Esteban Ocon, apart from his abandonment at Silverstone, and which the Blues want to surf in Austria this weekend.

" TO Silverstone, we continued to reduce the gap between us and fourth place in the Constructors' Championship thanks to Fernando's fifth final position, reflects Otmar Szafnauer, team principal ofAlpine. Unfortunately, both cars were unable to finish the race, with Esteban having to retire. We now know that it was an electrical fault in the high pressure fuel pump. Esteban had a good race and had recovered well from the first lap incident. »

On the side of the Styrian mountains, it will therefore be a question of confirming on a circuit which seems to correspond to the characteristics of the A522 and where the quota of points will be greater due to the Sprint Race on Saturday. Enough to foresee a good weekend in terms of accounting.

« Our car has performed relatively well in the medium and high speed corners this season, which is an asset on this circuit, points out Otmar Szafnauer. The improvements we made at Silverstone worked as expected and allowed us to improve our performance on the track. Austria is the second Sprint event of the year and we will need to get up to speed quickly with just one practice session on Friday before qualifying. I am convinced that we are able to come away with good points on Sunday."
