Relive the Miami GP qualifying in live text

Barely three hours after the finish of the Sprint won by Lando Norris, the pilots of Formula 1 are preparing for qualifying for the Miami GP, which can be followed live via text. Following the delay caused by the red flag during the sprint race, qualifying has been delayed by fifteen minutes, and will therefore begin at 22:15 p.m. French time with Q1.

Poleman in the Sprint on Friday, will Andrea Kimi Antonelli manage to repeat his feat with his Mercedes, and thus become the youngest poleman in the history of Formula 1? McLaren Will they regain their strength over a lap to return to the front line, or Max Verstappen Will he be able to work his magic again to secure a third pole position this season? We'll just have to watch qualifying to find out...

Miami – Qualifying: Max Verstappen stuns the McLarens

Q3 – Max Verstappen is therefore on pole position for the Miami Grand Prix!

Q3 – Andrea Kimi Antonelli slots in between the two McLarens, he's third! Russell fifth, ahead Sainz, Albon, Leclerc, Or with et tsunoda.

Q3 – 0'00 – And Norris is behind, 65 thousandths of a second behind Verstappen! Piastres is third at 0″171.

Q3 – 0'04 – Norris sets the fastest time in the second sector.

Q3 – 0'24 – 1'26″204 for Max Verstappen, who improves by almost three tenths!

Q3 – 0'50 – He improves his second sector, while Norris is slower in the first!

Q3 – 1'14 – Verstappen improves his score in the first sector!

Q3 – 1'41 – Max Verstappen's on, can the Dutchman keep pole position?

Q3 – 3'05 – The rest of the Q3 entries start in a second group. Who will take pole position for the Miami Grand Prix?

Q3 – 4'01 – Tsunoda is the first to take to the track ahead of Verstappen, Ocon, Leclerc and Norris.

Q3 – 5'44 – Sainz, Ocon and Tsunoda are ahead Charles Leclerc, who did not set a time after a major wheel lock in the last corner.

Q3 – 7'17 – Antonelli finished fourth, ahead of Albon and Russell.

Q3 – 7'42 – Piastri was beaten by just 17 thousandths of a second, and Norris managed to get into that gap, second, three thousandths behind Verstappen!

Q3 – 8'12 – 1'26″492 for Max Verstappen, Piastri concedes time to him in the second sector while Norris goes faster.

Q3 – 8'55 – Verstappen faster than Piastri in the first sector, but the Red Bull usually has more trouble in the two winding sectors.

Q3 – 12'00 – 🟢 The fight for pole position is on!

Q3 – ☁️ Clouds are coming, but rain is not expected during this Q3. 27°C in the air, 39°C on the track.

Q3 – In the fight for pole position we will find the two McLarens, the two Mercedes, the two Red Bulls, the two Williams, a Ferrari and HaasPlace your bets, nothing's going right!

Q2 – The ranking of this Q2, therefore Hadjar are eliminated, Hamilton, Bortoleto, Doohan and Lawson:

Q2 – 0'00 – And Lewis Hamilton aborted his lap, the Ferrari driver was twelfth, and therefore eliminated!

Q2 – 0'02 – 14th time for Doohan, who will be eliminated. Lawson also, with the fifteenth time.

Q2 – 0'15 – Unsurprisingly, Russell comes in third!

Q2 – 1'09 – Tenth fastest time for Isack Hadjar, the Racing Bulls driver may have difficulty getting into Q3, as Russell is currently 13th.

Q2 – 1'47 – Esteban Ocon completes his lap and is ninth with the Haas.

Q2 – 4'34 – The first cars take to the track for the second attempt at this Q2.

Q2 – 8'24 – After the first attempts, Russell, Ocon, Doohan and Lawson are eliminated, as well as Isack Hadjar who does not yet have a time.

Q2 – 9'16 – Antonelli confirms his good pace with the third time, while Russell only finishes eleventh.

Q2 – 9'49 – The McLarens show their teeth, 1'26″269 for Piastri who sets the best time, two tenths ahead of Norris.

Q2 – 10'47 – Sainz takes second place, ahead of Leclerc and Hamilton.

Q2 – 11'40 – 1'26″643 for Max Verstappen, first time of this Q2.

Q2 – 12'46 – Everyone is on track now, the goal as always is to get into the top 10.

Q2 – 15'00 – 🟢 Kick-off of the second part of the qualifications.

Q1 – Eighteenth, Pierre Gasly complains about traffic, and in particular about a Ferrari in sector 1.

Q1 – The ranking of this first part of the qualifications, the peloton is within 1″1:

Q1 – 0'00 – Verstappen finished with the best time ahead of Norris who hit the wall at turn 16. Hulkenberg, Alonso, Gasly, Stroll and Bearman are eliminated.

Q1 – 0'00 – Ocon moves up to thirteenth and takes out Alonso... then Hamilton sets the eighth fastest time! Tsunoda moves up to ninth.

Q1 – 0'00 – Eleventh fastest time for Jack Doohan, a great performance from the driver Alpine !

Q1 – 0'12 – Isack Hadjar moves into sixth place, Lewis Hamilton is the first to be eliminated. Fernando Alonso moves up to 14th and knocks Gasly out of Q2.

Q1 – 0'42 – Leclerc finished ninth, Gasly fifteenth.

Q1 – 1'15 – Only Max Verstappen remained in the garage, the Dutchman having the best time, he should have no problem getting through to Q2!

Q1 – 3'00 – The drivers begin to take to the track for their final attempt in this first part of qualifying.

Q1 – 4'50 – With less than five minutes to go until the checkered flag, Ocon, Alonso, Gasly, Stroll and Bearman are currently the eliminated drivers.

Q1 – 5'20 – Max Verstappen now takes the lead in 1'26″870.

Q1 – 7'27 – Best time for Kimi Antonelli in 1'27″077, ahead of Sainz and Piastri, the track seems to be improving, Bortoleto moves up to fifth place ahead of Lawson.

Q1 – 9'36 – Isack Hadjar was the one who was overtaken by Albon as he exited the garage; the Williams driver infiltrated the Racing Bulls. The incident will be investigated after the session.

Q1 – 11'59 – The two Racing Bulls and the two Mercedes return to the pits before the end of their flying lap, Piastri is in the lead in 1'27″307, ahead of Verstappen, Norris, Albon and Alonso.

Q1 – 13'10 – 1'27″838 for Alex Albon, provisional best time, but the Williams driver could be under investigation for his exit from the garage.

Q1 – 14'35 – 1'28″674 for Gabriel Bortoleto, who set the first time in this Q3.

Q1 – 15'36 – All drivers are now on track for this first part of qualifying.

Q1 – 16'02 – Good news for Charles Leclerc, he is back on track after his accident which prevented him from participating in the Sprint.

Q1 – 18'00 – 🟢 The first part of qualifying is underway.
