Liam Lawson's replacement, Yuki tsunoda will compete this weekend in its first Grand Prix with the colors of Red BullThe Japanese driver took the wheel of the 5 Red Bull RB2011, while his new teammate Max Verstappen reconnected with an old acquaintance. The Dutchman was on the road in the Red Bull RB16B with which he won his first world championship title in 2021. Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar also put on a show in old single-seaters, redecorated in the 2025 livery of the Racing Bulls team.
The showrun, a Red Bull custom, was also an opportunity for the Austrian brand to say goodbye to Honda. Indeed, after a partnership that dates back to 2018 with a first season at Toro Rosso, the Red Bull-Honda partnership will end this year. A Red Bull Powertrains-Ford engine is expected to power the bull brand's four single-seaters, while Honda will begin a new chapter in its history with Aston Martin.
“In this year that marks the end of an eight-year collaboration between Honda and Red Bull, we are delighted to organize an event in Tokyo to allow fans to experience the power and speed of the cars of F1 », explained Koji Watanabe, president of Honda Racing Corporation. "Today, the four F1 drivers who drove around Tokyo Bay will battle for victory at the F1 Japanese Grand Prix this weekend. Red Bull Racing will compete in a special livery that pays tribute to Honda's first Formula 1 victory 60 years ago with the RA272, featuring Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda in his home race. See you on track."
