More mechanical glitches for Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton was able to reach the finish line in second place to offer a new double to Mercedes at the Russian Grand Prix, but the Briton, who only started tenth on the grid following his ERS failure in qualifying, was too far away to hope to worry Nico Rosberg who has a 43-point lead over the three-time world champion leaving Sochi .

“It was not the first corner of the race that was the easiest to manage in my career”, admitted Lewis Hamilton. “I remain very satisfied with my second place because these points collected are important. It was a good thing to surprise Kimi (Räikkönen) when I overtook. I came from far enough to attack Valtteri (Bottas) and he didn't have time to defend himself. »

Lewis Hamilton can be satisfied with his podium since his garage had another scare with his W07 Hybrid. The Briton had to reduce his pace as he came back on Nico Rosberg following a hydraulic pressure problem.

“I had another problem with my engine and I had to reduce the pace. I could no longer accelerate fully on the straights. I'm already happy to be at the finish. My garage has had some very distressing times”, admitted the reigning world champion.
