The 2024 season of Max Verstappen has been animated to the point of reaching its closest circle of engineers. Since its arrival at Red Bull In 2016, the Dutchman worked closely with 4 very specific people: Gianpiero Lambiase, Tom Hart, David Mart and Michael Manning.
Last September, Lambiase had been appointed head of competition for the Austrian team, overseeing the sporting side of the structure, after the confirmation of the departure of Jonathan Wheatley, expected at Sauber/Audi in a team principal role. A new position which did not however imply a change with his driver. On the other hand, the situation is different for Michael Manning.
According to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Max Verstappen's usual track engineer, in charge of his starts in particular, has informed Red Bull of his desire to take a step back and therefore no longer attend every race weekend, no doubt exhausted by a calendar that continues to grow longer. The management of the Austrian team must now find him a new role within the structure as well as determine his replacement.
Before Max Verstappen, Michael Manning, who joined the team in 2011, had the opportunity to work with Sebastian Vettel.

It smells like the end of the cycle at Red Bull! The next departure will be that of Max for Mercedes or Aston, in 2026 perhaps, in 2027 at the latest

Another change and not the least, this one has been expected for a long time! The Batavian will have a new teammate in 2025, TexMex is over, the white smoke finally came out today at 18:00 p.m. ... meaning that the lawyers have finally agreed on the financial terms of the termination of the 2-year contract validated mid-2024. It remains to be seen who will be the one who will certainly be crushed by the Dutchman next year!
