Another great comeback from Verstappen

Max Verstappen ended his 2016 season on a good note by taking 4th place in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The pilot Red Bull however, had a difficult start. After spinning after contact with Nico Hulkenberg (Force India), the Dutchman moved up the peloton starting from last position.

The Dutchman made the difference by benefiting from an effective one-stop strategy which allowed him to gain numerous places, unlike his teammate Daniel Ricciardo who had to stop twice and only took 5th place.

" I am very happy. We couldn't have done better, after finding myself last at the first corner and moving up the places with only one stop., commented Max Verstappen. It is quite logical that drivers who made two stops could attack more with tires in better condition. This is what happened with Seb (Hag). "

If Max Verstappen complained on his radio about having been crushed by Nico Hülkenberg at the start, the Red Bull driver took a step back from the incident.

“Nico made a very good start and he must not have expected me to match him. He took his turn normally but I had no room to avoid contact, but I think it was a racing incident.", added the Red Bull driver.
