Epsilon is worried about 2011

The Spanish team, which is playing in particular this year in the World Series by Renault, currently has the best placed candidate in the list to arrive in F1 next year. However, Joan Villadelprat is concerned about the late rendering of the decision. “ I am optimistic but also worried because the FIA will not make its decision until August. The selected team will therefore have a very short time to develop its car », Commented the director of Epsilon Euskadi to Autosprint.

« We have already had to make several investments, even before knowing the decision, because we cannot postpone the deadlines indefinitely. », continued Villadelprat. “ We are continuing discussions with other international companies interested in our project. Within two weeks, we will be more enlightened about our destiny “, he clarified. The director of the Spanish team also announced that he wanted to arrive in F1 with a substantial budget. “ We must start from a base of 100 million euros if we want to progress. We would only make up the numbers with less budget ", he added.

Joan Villadelprat therefore seems determined to try the adventure in F1. He has already taken big risks by investing funds in anticipation of a favorable result for the Spanish team. A refusal from the FIA would be a hard blow to Villadelprat.
