Epsilon Euskadi: F1 2011 project

The waltz of applications resumes its course. In 2009, the list of teams interested in a “low cost” F1 was long with ambitious teams. Lola, iSport, Epsilon Euskadi, USF1, Litespeed, Campos Meta 1, Mano Motorsport, Prodrive? Three of them were retained, before Max Mosley's FIA abandoned its plan for a Formula 1 with a budgetary ceiling, in the face of the discontent of the historic teams.

This season, no promises from Jean Todt's FIA: the call for applications has been launched but no advantage can attract teams potentially interested in a lower-cost F1. It is in this context that the Epsilon Euskadi team still wishes to offer itself to join F1 in 2011.

« We were ready in June last year, confides the team boss, Joan Villadelprat. We had the necessary financial support. But, for reasons unknown to me, we were not selected. »

« We are relaunching our projectHe says. My job is to bring the positive energies together again, to bring together the support we had. If the FIA gives us enough time to prepare for next year, then we can be in Formula 1. »

Interested teams have until April 15 to come forward.
