Ericsson: “F1 cars seem really brutal”

After presenting the Sauber C36, the Swiss team took advantage of a day of promotional filming authorized by the regulations to produce the burn-in of his new mount with Marcus Ericsson. The Swede was unable to push car in his corners, the speed being limited in these sessions, but he already seems won over by this new F1.

“The first sensations are really good, he confirmed. This year's regulations are very exciting for everyone involved in F1. The F1 cars seem really brutal, the car and the tires are wider. »

Marcus Ericsson, who will play this season with Pascal Wehrlein, hopes to finally get a top ten finish after a pointsless season last year.

“It's very difficult in F1 to get results because you don't know where you stand against your opponents until the first race. In any case, we want to reconnect with the middle of the pack and fight regularly for points, that’s the first objective”, underlined the Swede.

Sauber F1 Team will begin winter testing with Marcus Ericsson without Pascal Wehrlein, who was benched following his accident at the Race of Champions in Miami (Florida) last January. The protégé of Mercedes should be replaced by Antonio Giovinazzi, the GP2 Series runner-up supported by Ferrari.
