Will Ericsson get off to a good start at the Chinese GP?

After taking 8th place at the Australian GP, Marcus Ericsson was stopped in his tracks at Sepang when he left the track following poor braking. The Sauber driver was nevertheless hopeful of achieving a good result since he had gained a position at the start and was in 8th place.

The former Caterham resident F1 Team will have the opportunity to turn the page at the Chinese GP played on April 12. “I know the Shanghai circuit since last year (where he took 20th place) but it is not easy since it mixes high speeds and slow corners. The braking is hard and the stability of the car in these phases is an important parameter", comments the Scandinavian.

Unlike the Malaysian GP where harder tires were retained, Pirelli will bring its soft and medium tires for the Chinese race. “It will also be cooler than in Sepang. This will have an influence on tire management”, underlines Marcus Ericsson. « I have a good feeling about leaving for China because we have a competitive car. We plan to get back into the points in Shanghai and I think the weekend will be positive for us. »
