Barcelona Test Day 1 – Who rides and when?

This is it, the new era of Formula 1 is thrown ! After the revelations of the different single-seaters in recent days, it is time for the teams to launch them on the track during the Barcelona tests.

This first round of testing will take place over three days starting this Wednesday during which the teams will alternate their drivers aboard their single-seaters.

Alternate program at Ferrari, Alpine bet on Alonso

At Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel will have the luxury of bringing the AMR22 onto the asphalt first while Lance stroll will have to wait until the afternoon to get behind the wheel of his new vehicle.

On the side ofAlfa Romeo, it was Robert Kubica, the team's test driver, who was selected by the management to leave the garage first. New recruit for the Italian-Swiss team, Valtteri Bottas will have the opportunity to board the C42 during the second session of the day. Guanyu-Zhou will therefore not ride before this Thursday.

If Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo have focused on alternation, Alpha Tauri has decided to devote this Wednesday entirely to Yuki tsunoda. Pierre Gasly will wait until Thursday to do his first session with the AT03. Same case with Alpine where Fernando Alonso was chosen for the whole day. Like his compatriot, Esteban Ocon will also wait in the paddock before officially launching its 2022 season.

At Ferrari et Haas, no particular preference and all drivers will ride this Wednesday. Charles Leclerc et Nikita mazepin will be the first to take the track before Carlos Sainz et Mick Schumacher do not take over in the afternoon.

New teammate Lewis Hamilton, George Russell will have the opportunity to do the first official laps of the W13 while his compatriot will replace him during the second session this Wednesday. Concerning Williams, Nicholas latifi will share the FW44 with Alex Albon. The first will ride in the morning, the second in the afternoon.

Like AlphaTauri or even Alpine, McLaren et Red Bull decided to complete the entire day with a single pilot: Lando Norris for the first, Max Verstappen for the latter. You'll have to wait until Thursday to see Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Pérez ride.
