F1 testing – Alonso confident with Ferrari

Fernando Alonso yesterday completed its penultimate day of winter testing behind the wheel of the new Ferrari F138 with which he carried out a racing simulation, completing more than a hundred laps. If the Asturian did not seek to achieve a significant time, the performances of his car, which had a new diffuser and new exhausts, seemed to satisfy the double world champion. “We hope to have reduced our delay and that we can arrive in Australia in better shape than in Brazil, 200 times stronger than last year. I think we have been spared any problems this winter with the installed items working as expected. We are not worried and Australia is not the last race of the Championship, it will only be the starting point for many packages that will arrive this season. »

After having fought all year for a third coronation despite a difficult start to the Scuderia season, Fernando Alonso is more motivated than ever to resume the attack this year and fight at the best level, hoping to immediately be in the rhythm of the best . “I don’t see why we couldn’t think about it because we had a very difficult winter last year,” adds the Ferrari driver. “We were completely lost and didn't know what the car was doing in some races. We didn't understand what was happening between the wind tunnel and the track and we were still able to fight for the Championship all the way to Brazil. We now have a car that reacts correctly to the changes made, in accordance with our predictions. We are also aware that we may not be the fastest, but the basics and the potential are there. It was a dream last year to have a working single-seater. »
