While the majority of drivers complain about pre-season tests that are far too short, other voices doubt their real interest. Kilometers in question.

Are F1 winter tests destined to be further shortened?

The winter tests at the end of the 2010 decade in Barcelona or Jerez (Spain), which hosted the new single-seaters for three times four days between the end of January and mid-March, already seem a long way away.

This was before we reduced the traditional pre-season tests from 12 to 8 days of driving, then 6, then 3 (with the exception of last year due to new aerodynamic regulations).

How far away are the days of winter testing at altitude during the southern South African summer at Kyalami in front of packed stands!!
