Esteban Gutiérrez bounces back at Ferrari

Esteban Gutiérrez was aware that he would no longer start in 2015 following the announcement of his replacement at Sauber F1 Team by Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr. The Mexican had a particularly difficult season with the Swiss team, the C33 being unable to finish in the points. His future will remain in F1 sincehe will occupy the position of test pilot and reservist of the Team Ferraris in 2015. “It is an honor to join the Ferrari family, as the Scuderia has an exceptional history,” said Esteban Gutiérrez. “This is the start of a new chapter for my future and I will do my best to achieve the goals set by the team. »

Maurizio Arrivabene, the new director of Scuderia Ferrari, warmly welcomes his new recruit. “While confirming our complete confidence in our crew… I am happy to welcome Esteban Gutiérrez. Even though he is still young (23 years old), he already has a lot of experience with the new generation of F1. So I am convinced that he will make a great contribution to the development by working on the simulator. This also implies that Ferrari's doors open for a driver from Mexico, a country where the Scuderia still has many fans, as it did 50 years ago in the days of the Rodriguez brothers. »
