Esteban Ocon hoped for seventh place in qualifying

To see Esteban Ocon After the qualifying session, one could sense obvious disappointment from the Force India driver. The Normand quickly mentions two main factors to explain his poor performance.

« I'm not totally happy with our session today because I think we could have been higher on the grid, underlines Ocon. I think seventh place was realistic, but the traffic didn't help today and I didn't maximize some things.

It’s always a tough qualifying session here with the temperatures dropping and you have to work hard to get the tires in the right operating window.

I'm just annoyed that I didn't show the true pace of the car, but it's only Saturday and the race is what really matters. I want to get a good start, get ahead of a few cars and finish the season with a good result. »

Robert Fernlay, Deputy Team Principal of Force India, further specifies that Esteban Ocon estimated that Valtteri Bottas had “impeded his last opportunity in Q3. » The former European champion F3 and former GP3 champion will start the race behind his teammate Sergio Pérez, qualified eighth.
