Esteban Ocon is optimistic for the future at Spa
Esteban Ocon got off to a good start to his first Grand Prix F1 in Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium). The Frenchman, replacing Rio Haryanto, set the 16th and 21st times in the first two practice sessions held in very hot weather.
“Everything worked perfectly, confirmed Esteban Ocon. It was nice to be able to talk while driving after so many interviews. I was very satisfied with how the day went. There car performed well and I felt good there. After so much preparation, everything happened quite naturally. »
“I had the chance to test the super soft tires quite early in the session, which gave me an insight into the car’s potential in the face of adversity. It’s all the more positive since it’s only Friday. I lost a little time this afternoon, but we did what we wanted. I can’t wait to analyze the data and come back even stronger tomorrow. »
His teammate Pascal Wehrlein stood out by setting the 11th fastest time in the second session, almost a second ahead of the Frenchman.
