Esteban Ocon: The Hungaroring, “my favorite circuit”

This weekend marks the end of a cycle for Esteban Ocon. After the Hungarian Grand Prix, he will have passed the one-year mark in F1, the Budapest route being the only one remaining on the calendar that he has never run with a car of F1.

« I love Budapest and the Hungaroring, confides the Force India driver. This is my favorite circuit of the year. I had a special weekend there in Formula 3 (2014) with two victories and a second place, and a double podium in GP3 (2015).

« It’s a circuit that is very pleasant to drive. Once you get into the rhythm, it's great because you can really trust the car and attack the curbs. It’s a circuit that suits me well as a driver. »

After the race on the Hungarian turnstile, F1 benefits from a four-week summer break after a busy July with three race weekends.

« I can’t wait for the break to come and have a chance to recharge my batteries. It's been an intense season and I'm ready to take a few weeks to catch my breath.

“I’m happy with how things have gone since I joined the team. I feel stronger with each race and I think there is even more potential to exploit for the second part of the season."

Esteban Ocon is currently eighth in the championship, 9 points behind his teammate Sergio Perez.
