Esteban Ocon Renault reserve driver
A French pilot will be part of the new Renault adventure in F1. It's the third pilot position, alongside Jolyon Palmer and Kevin Magnussen, who Esteban Ocon will be present in 2016 within the structure ofenstone.
European Champion of F3 in 2014 with Prema, the Normand joined the GP3Series last year and won the title at the end of a bitter duel with the Italian Luca Ghiotto. Mercedes had at the start of the season supported the young 19-year-old driver, previously linked to Lotus F1 Team (with whom he had played in trials), and had named him reserve driver in DTM.
An association which led Ocon to take part in a free practice session during the Hockenheim final last October. No information has yet been received regarding its 2016 program.
Ocon will also meet his boss at ART Grand Prix Frédéric Vasseur, new competition director of Renault.
