Esteban Ocon recounts his ordeal in Las Vegas
Funny Sunday that we lived Esteban Ocon on the Las Vegas Strip. Eleventh on the grid, the Norman was nevertheless optimistic before the start, with the ambition of going for points in order to help Alpine to consolidate its 6th place among the Constructors.

The mechanics were not ready in time to welcome the Frenchman on lap 10, forcing him to return two laps later to make his stop.
His race was almost over, and he then tried to make up for the positions he had lost after that blunder. It wasn't our day and we finished outside the points, he regretted.
We need to review what happened in our first pit stop because we actually went through the pit lane without stopping. It’s a shame and we need to come back to that. We didn’t take the chances when I was confident that we could at least fight for the points. We will analyse everything and look to do better in Qatar. »

Where it will be a question, among other things, of recovering 6th place among Constructors. In addition to Esteban Ocon's underperformance, Alpine saw Pierre Gasly retired due to an engine problem, thus failing to score a single point. Meanwhile, Haas took advantage of the opportunity to move back in front thanks to Nico Hülkenberg's 8th place, while Racing Bulls came back to within 3 lengths.

Since Ferrari's comic exploits with Mattia Binocchio, this kind of joke has been missing in F1. It's hardly surprising that it's Alpine who took up the torch. More seriously, at this level of competition, it's pitiful.

The total "lose" for Alpine after his incredible podium at Interlagos... The weekends follow one another and are therefore not alike between a salad of pine nuts for Gasly and a team of mechanics playing slot machines in the casino closest to the stands for Ocon!!
