Esteban Ocon satisfied with his 8th place thanks to an aggressive strategy

Ranked 11th but started 14th after a three-place penalty for hindering George Russell in qualifying, Esteban Ocon showed himself at ease on the RS20 this Sunday at Silverstone. Thanks to the very good team strategy, the Frenchman was able to cross the finish line in a good 8th position. At the microphone of Canal+, the pilot Renault did not hide his joy and praised the work of the stable.

« We had to be aggressive with the strategy, we tried to make it work, we had to be intelligent and we had to manage the strategy. I'm happy with this turnaround, it wasn't good yesterday, we didn't have a good qualifying and I'm super happy ».

Unlike almost all the drivers, Esteban Ocon had no real problem with his tires. The Frenchman managed them well so as not to have to dive into the pits a second time during the race. A godsend for him.

« I had some left (tyres, editor’s note.), that’s what was good! We knew how to manage them as needed. I got good information from the team. We were super strong on tire management, pit stops… every time something happened in the race we knew how to react ". To reproduce.
