In Tuscany, Racing Point arrived with a series of improvements for the RP20 (new sidepods and new brake ducts). Having only one package, the British team decided to install it on the car de Lance stroll while waiting for the Russian GP to do the same on that of Sergio Pérez. But the violent exit from the track of the first disrupted the plans.

Indeed, Racing Point was forced to rebuild a car for the Canadian in view of the meeting in Sochi this weekend. Initially intended for Sergio Pérez, these new parts will be mounted on his teammate's RP20. Ahead of the Mexican in the world championship (6th against 9th), Lance Stroll therefore has priority.
The British team attempted to produce a second series of upgrades for the Russian Grand Prix but a production delay did not allow for on-time delivery.
As a result, Sergio Pérez will have to wait for the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring (Germany) before receiving his new sidepods and new brake scoops.
