Exclusive: Interview with Claire Williams

What is your first motorsport memory?
Oh damn, so long ago... I was very little. I remember a trip to Zandvoort (Netherlands. Ed.). We used to go there as a family. It was like a reward. I must have been 3 or 4 years old, no more. The one responsible for taking my older brother and me was none other than Nigel Mansell. It must have been his first job for my father (Laughs).

Do you remember being immediately won over or did you learn to love this sport?
I think I was attracted quite quickly. Not necessarily by the cars, but by the atmosphere. I liked hanging out in the motorhome. As kids, we had the right to do nothing. As everything was forbidden to us, I stayed at the back of the motor home to help make sandwiches or wash the dishes.
