F1: 14 teams in 2010?

Will the Campos Meta team be at the start of the Bahrain Grand Prix? Nothing is less sure. A purchase by VW was mentioned in the Spanish press but nothing since. No information is filtered about the Iberian team.

Founded on the ashes of the stable Toyota, Stefan GP does not hide his interest in F1, claiming to already have everything in place, equipment having even already been sent to Bahrain. Yes, but there you have it, Campos is not communicating and the Serbian team finds itself in an impasse, not knowing whether or not it should continue to prepare for a possible 2010 season. Especially since Jean Todt, president of the FIA, recently declared that the withdrawal of a team did not automatically give an entry ticket to a possible replacement team.

The British newspaper The Sun reveals that Zvoran Stefanovic is therefore pushing for the FIA to accept 14 teams this season, an initiative that Peter Sauber had already thought about before benefiting from the departure of Toyota. Furthermore, at the very beginning of the year, Bernie Ecclestone, who greatly supports the Serbian project, would have contacted the GP organizers to ask them to prepare to receive 14 teams.

From 10 teams last season, is the F1 paddock preparing to welcome 14? Will the Stefan GP team be at the start of the Bahrain GP? Many questions remain unanswered less than a month before the opening round, but one thing is certain the Serbs are on alert, ready to seize the slightest little opportunity that could be left to them.
