F1 / Bahrain: A good 9th place for Alonso

Fernando Alonso once again saved the honor of the Scuderia by placing a F2012 in Q3 while Felipe Massa could not do better than 14th. The Spaniard is satisfied with his performance on a circuit that Maranello particularly feared. The double world champion hopes to gain a few positions even if a podium seems out of reach.

“We are between 8th and 12th place so this place corresponds to our level. With the characteristics of the circuit which do not suit our car, that?s not too bad. I had to use all the soft tires available and I did not take part in the last session. There would have been no point in setting a time with worn tires and I should have started with these tyres. I want to finish in the points around sixth or seventh place. I know, it?s not brilliant, but it?s all we can do. »
