F1 / Bahrain: Vettel feared Räikkönen

After taking pole at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel managed to maintain the advantage in the race to claim his first victory of the season and take control of the Championship. The pilot Red Bull protected himself from his rivals by getting off to a good start. “This race was particularly difficult”, recognizes the winner of the Grand Prix. “I managed to get a good start, this was very important for me to immediately widen the gap because I had used my soft tires for qualifying. »

The reigning champion admits that he feared a comeback from the Finn in the final laps of the race. The Red Bull driver, however, managed to maintain a three-second advantage over the Lotus driver before crossing the finish line. “I had a lot of trouble keeping the advantage over Kimi and I thought he had a good chance of overtaking me. Nevertheless, I was able to maintain my lead in the last ten laps of the race. I had to maintain a high pace until the end because Lotus was attacking hard. »
