F1 – Bob Bell confident in Enstone’s capabilities

For its return as a full-fledged team, Renault decided to trust Bob Bell to oversee the technical aspect of its program F1. The Briton, former technical director of Losange during the 2005 and 2006 world titles, will be the cornerstone of a trio where Rémi Taffin will be in charge of the engine part and Nick Chester the chassis part.

"I will have more influence (than in the past) on the development of the engine, even though I am not an engine engineer,
underlines Bell to Auto Motor und Sport. But the two parties must operate closely, and I must ensure that they are moving in the same direction, and that resources are distributed correctly. »

Bell, also passed by Mercedes, also admits not to be worried about Renault's skills. “ The team at enstone still knows how to build good racing cars. But we live in different times than 2005. What is important is to create solid foundations for the long term. »
