F1-EL1: Nico Rosberg despite the mechanics

In summer conditions at Silverstone, the first free practice session for the British Grand Prix allowed Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) to get your English weekend off to a good start. The German, however, had a truncated session, following a problem with loss of hydraulic pressure on his W06 Hybrid. But in the final moments, the vice-world champion after returning to action, twice improved the previous benchmark established by Lewis Hamilton to rise to the forefront in 1'34 "274.

The world champion, who like several other drivers (Felipe Nasr, Felipe Massa or Jolyon Palmer) made small errors on the track, ultimately failed 70 thousandths behind Rosberg in second position.

Behind the Silver Arrows, but more than a second behind the leader, we find the Toro Rosso de Max Verstappen who is ahead of Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) and Carlos Sainz (Rosso Bull). Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) who will have driven very little (17 laps) and Daniel Riccardo who places first Red Bull in seventh position, follow in the ranking.

The top 10 is completed by Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull), Nico Hulkenberg (Force India), and Felipe Massa (Williams). The McLaren de Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button take 17th and 18th positions ahead of the two Manors of Will Stevens and Roberto Merhi.

Lined up this morning in EL1, Susie Wolff (Williams), Jolyon Palmer (Lotus) and Raffaele Marciello (Sauber) rank 13th, 14th and 15th and will return their respective seats to Valtteri Bottas, Romain Grosjean and Marcus Ericsson early in the afternoon for the second session.
