F1-EL2: Kvyat benchmarks in the rain at Suzuka

The first two practice sessions for the Japanese GP at Suzuka were contested on a wet track, limiting the drivers' driving. Daniil Kvyat (Red Bull) was the fastest with a time of 1’48”277, two hundredths ahead of the Mercedes de Nico Rosberg and half a second the W06 Hybrid of Lewis Hamilton.

Sebastian Vettel completes the top five behind Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) two seconds behind the reference by preceding his teammate Kimi Räikkönen, the pilots Ferrari having been the most diligent on the track. THE Toro Rosso follow the SF15-T with Carlos Sainz Jr in seventh place ahead Max Verstappen.

Romain Grosjean (Lotus) was satisfied with the 15th time in front Felipe Massa (Williams) and Fernando Alonso (McLaren). Valtteri Bottas (Williams) didn’t even do a timed lap.

The final practice session for the Japanese GP will be contested this Saturday, September 26 from 5 a.m. (French time) on Canal+ Sport. Qualifying will follow at 8 a.m. and will be followed in live text on AUTOhebdo.fr. The latest forecasts predict milder weather for the rest of the weekend, although the risk of rain persists.
