F1-FP3: Alonso in the lead in Singapore, Mercedes behind

The final practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix gives hope for qualifying on the Marina Bay track. Fernando Alonso proved that he was efficient on this circuit by setting the best time in practice with a lap completed in 1’47”299. If the Team can hope for good results, Kimi Räikkönen is further back with more than a second behind. Daniel Ricciardo is the closest to the Asturian with half a tenth behind. Jean-Éric Vergne also distinguished himself by setting the fourth fastest time ahead of Sebastian Vettel.

Mercedes also surprised by its lower performance with the super soft tires. If Nico Rosberg was the fastest with the yellow sidewall tires, the W05s were much more discreet at the end of the session since Nico Rosberg only set the third fastest time while Lewis Hamilton occupies sixth place almost half a second from the benchmark. But the Silver Arrows could well hide their game since they only gained one second per lap with the best performing tires. Conversely, the Williams regain color since Felipe Massa finishes in sixth position ahead of his teammate Valtteri Bottas. Esteban Gutiérrez completes the top ten.

The Force Indias are in the middle of the pack with Nico Hulkenberg in 11th place while Sergio Pérez is in 15th place ahead of Adrian Sutil. THE McLaren de Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button are ahead of Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat in 13th position who is one second behind his teammate. The Lotuses are still behind with Romain Grosjean 17th ahead of Pastor Maldonado. Jules Bianchi ranks 19th.

Qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix will be contested from 21 p.m. (15 p.m. in France) and can be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr.
