F1-EL3: Mercedes and Ferrari neck and neck in Bahrain

Lewis Hamilton set the best time in the final practice session for the Bahrain GP. The Briton only beat Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari by a few hundredths.

F1-EL3: Mercedes and Ferrari neck and neck in Bahrain

The final practice session for the Bahrain GP allowed Lewis Hamilton to emerge at the top of the timing sheet. While the wind brought sand back onto the track, thee pilot Mercedes managed to achieve a time of 1’34”599 with the soft tires, being 7 hundredths ahead of the Ferrari de Sebastian Vettel. Nico Rosberg and Kimi Räikkönen are the closest even if they are several tenths behind.

The Williams follow the two leading teams, with Valtteri Bottas in 5th place ahead of Felipe Massa, being the only ones less than a second from the reference time of the session. If Pastor Maldonado signed the 7th fastest time, his teammate Romain Grosjean was in great difficulty and could only finish in 18th position.

Daniel Ricciardo placed the first Red Bull in 8th place while his teammate Daniil Kvyat missed a good part of the session by getting stuck in a gravel trap. Nico Hulkenberg and Felipe Nasr complete the top ten.

Qualifying for the Bahrain GP will take place from 17 p.m. and can be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr.
