F1: Hamilton confident for Barcelona

Lewis Hamilton has not yet won a race this year but its consistency and the efficiency of the MP4-27 allow it to be in second place in the Championship with four points behind the leader Sebastian Vettel. After McLaren took part in the Mugello tests with reserve drivers Oliver Turvey and Gary Paffett, Lewis Hamilton will take the wheel of the car British on the Catalunya circuit where he had a great battle against Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) last year. The 2008 champion hopes to qualify at the front on a track where overtaking is known to be difficult.

“Our performance in Barcelona during winter testing seemed promising”, explains Lewis Hamilton. “However, the current state of the season remains very complicated to read and it will still be difficult to know who will be ahead next weekend. I still had a good race last year, attacking Sebastian (Vettel) until the finish. I think we have a much more competitive car than last year and I hope we can have another good race. This circuit has always been difficult for overtaking, as I noticed last year, but I hope that SREC combined with DRS will make things easier. I hope to perform well in qualifying to quickly be at the front in the race. »
