La Formula 1 had already communicated the departure times of the 23 Grands Prix which will make up the 2022 season; This Monday, February 21, it's the turn of the sprint races to get their start time.

While those responsible for the discipline such as Stefano Domenicali wanted to increase the number of sprint races, there will only be three on the program, the same number as in 2021. However, two of them will be held on new circuits by compared to the previous year (Emilia-Romagna to Imola and Red Bull Ring in Austria). Brazil keeps the same double program as in 2021 in Sao Paulo.

This trio of sprint races will each start at 16:30 p.m. local time. The Grand Prix will be held the next day at 15 p.m. local time across all three events.

One of the major changes to these sprint races concerns the allocation of points. 3, 2 and 1 points were awarded in 2021, respectively to the winner, 2nd and 3rd. In 2022, no less than 8 points will be awarded to the winner of this short race. Then 7, 6 and so on from 2nd to 8th, which will receive a point. The sporting challenge will be real and will no longer be limited only to governing the starting order for the Sunday race.
