Weekend in the red zone in Imola

Max Verstappen won alone at Imola when Sergio Pérez secured the first Red Bull double since the 2016 Malaysian GP. On the Ferrari side, Charles Leclerc made a mistake while Maranello had already lost Carlos Sainz in the first round. In Imola, the world championship got a big boost.

Tomorrow the bells of Maranello will not ring to celebrate a Ferrari victory at Imola. After a long death rattle, the hill of passion where thousands of fans gathered has just expired. Charles Leclerc, who chased the Red Bull by Sergio Pérez, has just lost his car on the chicane vibrator, at turn 14, and end up against the tire wall. He left again, but the damage is done. Tomorrow the death knell will toll!

Before this small mistake with unfortunate consequences, the Monegasque had decided to try everything by stopping on the 50th lap to put on a set of Soft tires. The objective was already to take 2nd place from the Mexican. Unfortunately, he came out in 4th position just behind the McLaren de Lando Norris, while “Checo” also returned to the pits for a final stop of 2”2, much better than that of the Ferrari driver. Returning to the track, he was able to retain his 2nd place when the Ferrari driver had to take back that conceded to the Briton; what he managed to do in the 52nd round.
