Sergio Pérez yesterday took part in his first tests with McLaren at the wheel of the MP4-28. The Mexican had to find his bearings on this new car which nevertheless seems to satisfy him.

Sergio Pérez drove the new MP4-28 for the first time yesterday on the Jerez circuit. If most drivers find the sensations experienced last year, Checo must get used to his new car after competing in the 2012 season at the wheel of the Sauber C31. “It was a day in my new office that was much more different than I expected”, recognized the Mexican. “When discovering a new seat, you have to adapt to the new driving position and hold the steering wheel differently. By completing 81 laps of the track in Jerez, Sergio Pérez achieved a time of 1'19"572 placing him in seventh position. If Checo still has to get his bearings behind the wheel of the MP4-28, the Mexican is satisfied with his first laps with the new single-seater. Woking. “The car has good potential, I could feel it”, continues the McLaren driver. “We don't know our level of competitiveness yet, all I can say is that the car looks pretty good.
