F1: Teams reject 2013 regulations

The single-seaters could return to the form of the 1980s-1990s from 2013. The FIA plans to put in place a regulation favoring the support created by the floor at the expense of the wings which should see their size reduced, thus reducing the streak.

The team managers voted against this decision, which would generate significant costs. The teams are already planning a significant budget for the development of the new 1.6 liter engine which will also be installed on the single-seaters in 2013.

« The biggest problem concerns the massive investment of such a measure for the teams. You need to plan a big budget », explains Sam Michael, the director of Williams.
