Marchionne: Ferrari must avoid tragedy

Scuderia Ferrari made a remarkable return to the forefront in 2015 with three victories in Sebastian Vettel, the only pilot able to beat the Mercedes de Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. The stable of Maranello hopes to stay on the upward slope and soon be able to fight for the Drivers' and Manufacturers' titles, its last coronations dating back to the 2007 season with Kimi Räikkönen's title.

“We will improve our brand if we become successful again.”, commented Sergio Marchionne, the president of Ferrari, to the Gazzetta dello Sport. “I spoke with one of our salespeople and we agreed that the 2015 results brought credibility to the brand. It would be a tragedy if we go ten years without winning a title. »

Sergio Marchionne also spoke of the possibility of one day seeing Alfa Romeo arrive in F1, the Italian manufacturer belonging to the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group under the direction of the Italian businessman. “They need to consider a return to F1. They would probably work with Ferrari”, added Sergio Marchionne.
