F1: Pirelli keeps the accounts

100 km of tests, the equivalent of 000 Grand Prix, contested on 300 circuits: Monza, Valencia, Jerez, Le Castellet, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. The figure is impressive.

The most surprising thing comes from the breakdown of this distance: 18 km were covered by a single Toyota TF109 from 2009 jointly piloted by Nick Heidfeld, Romain Grosjean and Pedro de la Rosa. The remaining 82 were covered during the 000 days of official off-season testing by all the 15 teams.

Secretly, Pirelli recorded all the mileage of these customer teams, and Ferrari stands out from the crowd with 5244 km traveled. Next Mercedes (4483 km), Red Bull (4407 km), Sauber (4099 km), Williams (3894 km), McLaren (3844 km), Force India (3745 km), Toro Rosso (3737 km), Lotus Renault GP (3700 km), Virgin (3361 km), Lotus (2403 km) and HRT (1949 km).

On the pilot side, Fernando Alonso is the one who knows the 2011 envelopes best, with a total of 2826 km, ahead Schumacher (2474 km), Massa (2417 km), Webber (2373 km), Barrichello (2198 km) and Perez (2129 km). At the bottom of the table, those who have covered the fewest kilometers are Kovalainen (1182 km), Heidfeld (1140 km), Trulli (1028 km) and the unfortunate Liuzzi (326 km).
