F1 – Ride Youth?

Will the announced obligation to field beginners in free practice from 2022 improve the situation or should we go further?

F1 – Ride Youth?

Max Verstappen showed us that talent does not wait for years in motorsport, but it is not uncommon for other hopefuls to have to wait before reaching their goal. Many called, few chosen, so it goes F1 always. Many conscripts, even fewer elected officials, we would be tempted to say in view of the current grid: 20 seats where there used to be 24 or 26. So many fewer opportunities for young shoots, especially when certain steering wheels are occupied by daddy's boys, which has always existed in the premier category. Let's even be fair game by recognizing that the rich offspring of the 2021 field are much more competent than their illustrious predecessors. However, these considerations will not soothe the heart ofOscar piastri, current leader of the championship Formula 2, on the verge of winning a third title in as many seasons (champion F. Renault Eurocup in 2019 and F3 in 2020. ), and yet promised a destiny as a luxury pedestrian in 2022. Irony of history for the 20-year-old Australian, the last seat still available, that of the future teammate of Valtteri Bottas in Alfa Romeo, could well fall to his comrade of theAlpine Academy Guanyu-Zhou, whose generous patrons are known.
