Felipe Massa dominates at Silverstone

Stables F1 therefore met this Tuesday on the Silverstone circuit in England for a new private test session which will continue tomorrow. It's here Williams by Felipe Massa who was the fastest this Tuesday with a time of 1'35"242, established this morning on medium tires. He is ahead of Red Bull from the Australian Daniel Ricciardo who waited until the beginning of the afternoon to sign his first timed lap at the wheel of his RB10 powered by the turbo/hybrid V6 Renault. Ricciardo then increased the pace throughout the end of the session, but failed just six thousandths of the Brazilian's reference time.

Nico Rosberg, in the lead for a long time in the morning, finished 3rd at the wheel of his Mercedes W05 Hybrid at 0″331 from Massa. He is ahead of the Sauber of Adrian Sutil and the Marussia of Jules Bianchi, 5th after being forced to end his day prematurely, following a fire on his MR03 engine Ferrari. The Frenchman, however, remains the driver to have completed the most laps today with 108 laps on the clock. Let us also remember that Bianchi, just like Pedro de la Rosa at Ferrari, was officiating on behalf of Pirelli this Tuesday. Pastor Maldonado, who caused the first red flag of the day, finally completed 97 laps in his Lotus E22.

Less success for Jean-Eric Vergne and his Toro Rosso, authors of only 28 laps at Silverstone and responsible for three interruptions during the day. Will Stevens was lined up by Caterham and brought up the rear more than 5″3 behind Massa’s Williams. Starting tomorrow, the teams will return to the track, with different drivers. Jules BIanchi will drive for Ferrari, while Charles Pic will be in the seat of the Lotus E22, which will be closely watched since it plays for Pirelli with the famous 18″ tires.
