Felipe Massa: Williams will come back strong in 2016

After creating a surprise in 2014, Williams was further behind the following year even if the Grove team was able to beat Red Bull Racing. The British structure has high hopes for the new FW38 which will be presented at the start of winter testing on Monday February 22 at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona.

“The goal is always to fight for the title”, recalled Felipe Massa on TV Globo. “We have to move forward because the others are progressing too, but I think this year is where Williams will progress the most. I noticed lots of new things when discovering the car. We will try to reduce the gap on Ferrari and even Mercedes."

If Felipe Massa hopes for the best for next season, he is aware that the chances of success will be slim against the reigning champion team which has a solid lead in terms of development.

“They would have to make a big mistake not to have a car as competitive as in 2015. It's a year where nothing changes in the regulations. I am sure that Mercedes will be very strong again this season, although I hope that they are not as strong as in 2015 so that other teams can challenge them.", added the Brazilian.
