Felipe Nasr in the lead, Force India on the track

Si Felipe Nasr was the fastest this morning in Catalonia in Barcelona at the wheel of his Sauber C34, it is obviously towards Force India that all eyes were directed. Less than an hour from the end of the morning session, and ahead of what Vijay Mallya's team announced yesterday, Nico Hulkenberg set off on the Montmelo track, even completing a first timed lap at the wheel of the new VJM08. The German driver will continue in the race in the afternoon and throughout the day on Saturday before giving way to Sergio Pérez on Sunday.

The other satisfaction of these first four hours comes from McLarenWhere Jenson Button was able to complete 44 laps without visibly encountering any problems on his MP4-30 powered by the Honda Power Unit. Good news for the Woking clan, who had a complicated recovery yesterday with a hydraulic leak, forcing Button to stop his effort prematurely.

It is Max Verstappen (Toro Rosso) who was the most diligent this morning with 78 laps on the clock for the Dutchman and his STR10. The session will resume at 14 p.m. after the break.
