Fernando Alonso does not give up

Battling with Kimi Räikkönen at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso suffered a left rear puncture following slight contact with the car from the Finn. The Spanish driver is therefore only 4 points ahead of Sebastian Vettel, with only five races remaining.

« This time it's me who retires, but maybe next time it will be Vettel's turn. You never know, it’s motorsport, puts Alonso into perspective. There are five races left, it will be like a mini championship, because we have almost the same number of points and we need to score more points than him in the next five races. So we will try to do that. »

The double Spanish world champion was critical of Kimi Räikkönen, who attempted a somewhat daring maneuver at the first corner. “ I didn't have a place on my right because there was Button and on my left there was Kimi... And I don't understand why Kimi didn't lift his foot because he didn't really have of space. I don't know what he had in mind for the first corner, but that's what happened and this time we were unlucky. »
