Fernando Alonso does not ignite

“Only” third in qualifying in Bahrain behind Sébastian Hag and Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso recovered on Sunday, winning the race, for his first GP with Ferrari. There Team, by achieving the double thanks to Felipe Massa's good return to competition, showed everyone that the F60 was well born.

“Doing one and two in Sakhir gave us confidence, confides the Spaniard. It was a very good result, but we can't take anything for granted. We need to keep our feet on the ground, stay calm and focused. In Melbourne everything starts from scratch. For me nothing has changed. There are four teams and eight drivers who can fight for victory and we have to give our best in order to stay ahead of the others. »

The 2005 and 2006 world champion, like his rivals, gave his opinion on the Australian track. A route that he appreciates, like the entire paddock:

“I really like Albert Park, continues the former protégé of Flavio Briatore. It is a technical circuit with interesting turns. Overtaking has never been easy and what will be important, as on other circuits, will be to qualify well. We need to see how the tires behave depending on the different quantities of fuel on board and the temperature, parameters which will be different compared to Bahrain. This weekend in Melbourne is one of my favorites of the year because of the atmosphere in the paddock and in the city. It?s really special and we have the feeling that everyone is following the event. I hope we can produce a great show for the fans. »

Despite his victory in Bahrain proving right to many observers announcing him as the big favorite for the title this season, Fernando Alonso keeps a cool head, aware that F1 everything can change very quickly.
