Fernando Alonso more optimistic than ever

He believes in it wholeheartedly. On the sidelines of his national Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso showed himself once again confident in his chances of winning the world champion title this season. And this, despite the fact that he has already lost valuable points against Sebastian Vettel, particularly in Malaysia and Bahrain. “Last year we were 1,5 seconds slower than the cars at the front,” remembered the pilot of the Team Ferrari. “This year we completed two races without problems and finished with a second place in Australia and a victory in China. It?s a very different feeling and our aerodynamic package gives us optimism and confidence?

“It is true that we are a few points behind, but the championship is still long and we saw last year that Sebastian Vettel was 43 points behind us after the summer break before arriving as leader in Austin. In five or six races it is possible to recover 50 points with consistent results”, calculated the double world champion 2005 and 2006. “As long as we are between 75 and 80 points behind, we can be optimistic”.
