Fernando Alonso returned to the podium at the Brazilian Grand Prix after a series of five races without a top three. The double world champion retained his starting position by taking the advantage over Nico Rosberg but giving way to Mark Webber whose RB9 was significantly faster. “It was a difficult race for everyone. Unfortunately, the rain did not come. I think we would have been more competitive on a wet track but that didn't happen. It's a shame for us but at least we end the season with a podium. Now let’s hope we start the year in a different direction. »
The Asturian remains disappointed that his teammate Felipe Massa was unable to follow in his footsteps, the Paulist having had to perform a drive-through while he was playing for fourth place. “It was a real shame that he did that drive-through because I think the podium was close for Felipe today. I told myself that a fourth place would be a very good result for him. He has been an incredible teammate with very good skills. We have built a friendly relationship over the past four years after spending a lot of time together. We will see each other in the paddock next year. Even though he will wear new colors, he will still be a very good person. »
