Ferrari: Arrivabene replaces Mattiacci

Marco Mattiacci only remained in office for seven months at the head of Scuderia Ferrari. The speculations about his replacement by Maurizio Arrivabene were founded since Maranello just confirmed the news. The new Team Principal has until now held the position of manager within Marlboro Europe, which remains a privileged partner of the Maranello team despite the ban on advertising on smoking.

“We decided to appoint Maurizio Arrivabene because we needed someone with not only an understanding of Ferrari but also the governance mechanisms and requirements that this discipline entails”, commented Sergio Marchionne, the new President of Ferrari who succeeded Luca di Montezemolo this year. “Maurizio has a unique knowledge having been so close to the team for all these years. As a member of the Commission F1, he is also aware of the challenges we face. He has been a constant source of ideas for renewing F1. His management experience in a very complex market is also of great importance. This will help him manage and motivate the team. »

Sergio Marchionne concluded by having a thought for Marco Mattiacci who will no longer work for Ferrari. “We would like to thank him for his service to Ferrari over the past 15 years. »
