Ferrari impatiently awaits Valencia

While Ferrari, after a gloomy 2009, had to react, the 2010 season was expected to be the renewal of the Scuderia. The year started perfectly, with a double in Bahrain, but since then, Ferrari has struggled. In Istanbul last weekend, the lack of competitiveness of the F10 was screaming. Outstripped by Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes and even Renault at certain times, the team of Maranello lost the advantage it seemed to have at the start of the season.

To Fernando Alonso, the lack of developments is the main reason for this failure. “ The F10 has not evolved since the Chinese GP, he explains in the columns of AUTOhebdo, on sale this week. Apart from the blown wing (powered by the F-duct, editor's note), which does not necessarily provide everything we expect, and which has monopolized the efforts of the aero engineers, nothing new. Except in Bahrain, we only play defense, not attack. I hope things will get better from the Valencia GP, where the F10 should appear in a very advanced B version. We base everything on this program, knowing that the gap between us and Red Bull and McLaren is wide. I would say seven to eight tenths? Not easy to fill. »

Felipe Massa, faithful squire of the Prancing Horse stable, expects the best from next weekend in Canada. “ Montreal requires little support, like Monza. We should be better there. In Istanbul, I took a tenth in the first sector, five tenths in the second and I was pretty good in the third. We miss little in the slow corners, a lot in the fast curves. So good for Canada. » Ferrari therefore has two Grands Prix, those of Canada and Europe, to return to the top of the bill before a summer which promises to be more than competitive.
