Ferrari should have trusted Leclerc for Briatore earlier

Never stingy with analyzes and well-felt declarations, Flavio Briatore was a perfect client to talk about his career in F1 and give his point of view on the situation of the discipline.

The Italian, who admits that he no longer wants to return to sport, believes in particular that the Team Ferrari should have promoted sooner Charles Leclerc at the expense of Kimi Räikkönen.

“Leclerc is young and has c……, and shows it, indicates the former boss of Renault F1 Team. If I had been Ferrari, I would have put Leclerc in place of Räikkönen two years ago, because with Räikkönen you know you're not going anywhere. You're never going to win anything with him. I would have taken the risk of putting Leclerc. He is very, very strong. »

On the other hand, the truculent transalpine businessman thinks that Charles Leclerc is not yet on the same level as the super-stars Lewis Hamilton et Max Verstappen.

“Leclerc is not yet part of this select group, Briatore specifies. Verstappen is for me the most incredible driver. The way he overtakes, he’s a gladiator. »
