Ferrari plans to reuse Räikkönen's engine

La Team Ferrari intends to reuse the elements of the Power Unit on Kimi Räikkönen's SF70H which were changed after the breakdown which occurred during the first practice session for the Bahrain Grand Prix, the cause of which was overheating of the turbo.

For safety reasons, Scuderia Ferrari changed the engine, turbo and MGU-H before the second test session.

“Power Unit's concerns were pretty obvious, commented Mattia Binotto, technical director of Scuderia Ferrari. We changed it as a precaution for the afternoon because it was important that Kimi could carry out a session without encountering problems. We still need to determine why this problem occurred. We will analyze the elements in the hope of being able to reuse the entire Power Unit. »

The teams only have 4 different Power Unit elements available throughout the season.
