Ferrari heading to Melbourne despite quarantine measures in Italy

The team Ferrari will she be able to travel to Melbourne to participate in the Australian Grand Prix, the opening round of the 2020 season? Formula 1

For the moment, the response is positive, despite the quarantine this Sunday of around 15 million people living in northern Italy in response to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the Boot.

Containment thus applies to all of Lombardy, including the economic heart of the country, Milan, as well as the Venice region, northern Emilia-Romagna and eastern Piedmont. The area includes the province of Modena where Maranello and Ferrari facilities are located.

The government decree, however, authorizes exemptions for “ business trips that cannot be postponed or emergency situations ».

Contacted by AUTOhebdo To find out what impact government measures had on the movement of Ferrari troops, the Italian team responded with the following statement:

« Following the measures announced by the Italian government last night, we are monitoring and assessing the situation and are in close contact with the relevant authorities and all organizations involved.

Compliance with government measures is a priority for Ferrari to ensure the health and safety of its employees and their families. Any decision will be made in accordance with this principle.

Some of the team members and equipment have already arrived in Melbourne and the departure of the remaining troops will take place as planned, unless otherwise requested. ».

For now, the light is still green for the Reds.
